In 1730 the Domecq family arrived in Spain. A surname that is closely related to the production of high-quality foods and wines, such as sherry and
brandies. A knowledge that has transcended from parents to children. Always accompanied by his second passion, raising free-range animals, such as 100% Iberian pigs.
In 1970 Juan Pedro Domecq Solís began breeding 100% Iberian pigs on his Lo Álvaro farm in Seville. In an ambitious search to create the most exquisite ham, Juan Pedro relied on different studies carried out in collaboration with various Spanish universities. The result is found in a unique variety: the 100% hairless-marmelled Iberian pig.
In 2000, with the support of his son Juan Pedro Domecq Morenés, he launched an excellent quality product on the market, having all the experience in raising 100% Iberian pigs behind him.
Sadly Juan Pedro Domecq left us suddenly in 2011, and his daughters, Teresa and Isabel Domecq took the reins of the company until today. A pig company from a nearly extinct one, the
mamellada-hairless, the best – it is the one his father had opted for in 1970, after much research in which the university was involved –, for the production of acorn-fed Iberian ham (due to its ability to convert acorns and infiltrate fat). Not only did they move the company forward, but they put it at the top, positioning it in the
most exclusive gastronomic luxury. Today, their select limited production (only 3.000 pigs per year) is sold (no less than 70%) to countries around the world, and they are especially appreciated in France, Italy, Singapore, Mexico, Thailand... And We hope that, with our development,
