Information about Castillo de Canena

Castillo de Canena takes its name from the family castle that stands on the hill of the municipality of Canena (Jaén). The company has a scrupulous respect for the environment that materializes with photovoltaic power plants, a plant cover throughout the farm that reduces soil erosion and preserves the native herbaceous vegetation and the use of biomass pruning remains as environmentally friendly non-polluting fuel.

Furthermore, this Biodynamic EVOO has the certification DEMETER of biodynamic agriculture. In order to obtain DEMETER certification, among other actions, Castillo de Canena has incorporated sheep into the farm, manufactures its own fertilizers through composting, has enriched the plant cover through the installation of honeycombs, uses foliar preparations silica (ground quartz) instead of copper and apply the different biodynamic preparations.

Biodynamic Agriculture is a step forward from the cultivation method ECOLOGICAL which is based on the harmonization between the different forces that govern Nature: seasons, atmospheric phenomena, lunar cycles, position of the constellations in the cosmos, seeking an integral balance between the soil, the trees, the animals and Man.

An oil that reminds me a lot of my days in Huelva, when I enjoyed the products of the land. Pairing them with tomatoes from the garden or for salads is an excellent choice.
