You should always try to go to events where there is the possibility of learning something new, participating in tastings, going to a wine communication fair or wine-themed book presentations. Apart from that you have to go visit the vineyard to be in contact with the wine makers and understand the land.

Do we make good use of social networks?

The magic of networks sometimes works, if you know how to use them, it is usually positive. I say this because as wine connoisseur, restless ass, recently at an event petite committee, I made everyone discover a boutique winery in the Anoia region (Catalonia). Good land to make wine, the Torre de Claramunt, where the farm is located, where in the 84th century, XNUMX% of the cultivated land was vineyards.

A project that was born more than 20 years ago. To be a symbol and witness of all the families that had to leave the countryside in this area, to find a job in the largest cities, the era of industrialization. In 1915 the family's ancestors left La Segarra to move to the Mas Rossinyol farmhouse, currently located on the estate where the wine is made.

Since its inception in 1997, Pla de Morei decided to make a clear commitment to organic farming, being one of the pioneers in the area in making organic wines. The Pla de Morei project with the construction of the winery takes its final shape, once completed, in 2018 the first harvest was carried out. The construction was equipped with state-of-the-art machinery. It was decided to work with local and international varieties, very well adapted to this land. Ecological wines, with minimal intervention and from the same farm, the different plots, are bottled, under the concept of farm wine.

Cellar

With a clean and careful design, the references that the winery proposes are released to the market, only if the quality allows it. There are wines, which in some years will not be able to be made, or there will be very few bottles, since they are wines that stand out for the vintage factor. None is the same, and that is why these wines reflect both the work in the vineyard, carried out in a year, as well as the work done in the winery.

Wines from the winery

  • Filigrana Blanco- young white wine, sparkling, refreshing. It is made with the Garnacha Blanca and Chardonnay varieties.
  • Filigrana Tinto- Young red wine, made with the Tempranillo variety (92%) electric, fruity and with a good capacity to caress your palate with a touch of Merlot.
  • Saial blanco - It is made from three grape varieties, Garnacha Blanca (63,4%), Chardonnay (30,5%) and Incroccio Manzoni (6,1%). One part ferments in stainless steel tanks and the other in 500 L French oak barrels.
  • Mirador- Red wine that goes through French oak for 8 months. There are only 860 bottles.
  • Riu De Gost- Chardonnay - 300 bottles, which go through a battonage during this period and then it is aged for 6 months on its lees. A great target!
  • Riu de Gost- Incrocio Manzoni - variety little known in our country, but it produces delicate, aromatic and complex wines. It's a matter of trying it to find out what it tastes like!

As soon as the cold passes a bit, don't forget that the best way to understand this project is to go and meet it and enjoy these fabulous wines.
