Less than 40 minutes from Barcelona, ​​in the Cathedral of the Catalan cavas, in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia, we found the warehouse Peter Ventura, a place that makes it clear from the outside that it is not a conventional winery. Everything is taken care of with care and in detail. You are aware that the experience of the people who will visit the winery is taken very seriously. Noble materials and lots of design as soon as you walk through the front door.

But when we say that everything is taken care of in detail, we refer to the care of the fields, of each vineyard, each pruning, each square meter. And that savoir faire is perceived at all times. Also in the personal treatment of its employees and its owners, which is at a very high level, where one feels equally cared for and highly respected.

This winery was created in 1992, by Peter Ventura, a prominent businessman in the wine and cava sector, an example of the self-made man. He comes from a family with a wine tradition and has dedicated his entire life to creating his companies and acquiring and enhancing his wine estates. Therefore, this year marks the 30th anniversary of the winery.

When you make a visit to the winery, and they explain all the details of how each plot of it is created, you feel a growing emotion inside you, probably because if you are a person who shares the same values ​​as honesty, respect, sustainability and commitment, believe you are in your home... in a very Premium version, yes.

Because cava is a sparkling wine made with the Traditional Method (it is called that for French protest reasons, who do not want it to be called Methode Champenoise, although it is exactly the same production method), in the case of Peter Ventura, reaches an exceptional level of quality, and has been awarded in a large number of international competitions.

Pere Ventura, in 2019 was selected "Top 100 Wineries” by the prestigious American newspaper Wine & Spirits. The tasting panel and critics of Wine & Spirits annually they blindly taste more than 11.000 wines from around the world, revealing a selection of those they consider most distinctive. Being included in the 'Top 100 Wineries' implies having wines with the best scores and that the brand shows a differentiating quality, constant (the same in different vintages) and common to all references.

Peter Ventura was the only national sparkling brand in this selection of 100 wineries, in which others of international renown stand out, such as Champagne Bollinger, Louis Roederer, Krug o Vega Sicilia, to name just a few. This recognition of its sparkling wines is not surprising, of which, 90% is exported to more than 50 countries on five continents.
