since we met Ana Muga through our wine connoisseur, Zoltan nagy, the relationship with Muga has been more affectionate and close every day. It was always on our list of essential wines for the online gourmet store Made in Spain Gourmet that we created in 2020.

Prado Enea 2015, the great reserve of Bodegas Muga, is the only wine from the DOCa. Rioja that appears among the best 100 wines of 2022 of the prestigious North American magazine specialized in wines 'W', where seven other wines from Spanish wineries are also present.

Exceptional vintages: the secret of Prado de Enea

The Prado Enea harvest is always the last to be taken to the winery and is selected from plots and land located in the Villalba de Rioja area, on the slopes of the Montes Obarenes, facing south, a terroir of recognized high quality. The grapes are fermented in 100 hectoliter oak barrels without temperature control or the addition of yeast. The maceration period is between 16 and 20 days. The wine ages for 12 months in 160-hl American oak barrels, followed by a minimum of 36 months in barrels, generally French oak. At the end of the aging period, the wine is lightly clarified with fresh egg whites before being bottled and stored in our cellars for at least another 36 months, in order to complete the aging process.
