Safrà del Montsec is a company that was born in 2014 with the aim of contributing to the recovery of saffron cultivation in Catalonia, a region of Spain that, thanks to its location and climate, ideal for cultivation, became the area with the highest production and export of this spice in the Middle Ages.

They are a young couple of farmers who bet on nature every day, living in it, of it and mainly taking care of it, returning to its roots. They are part of the community and institutions committed to the environment and the optimal use of natural resources, in order to consolidate an economically sustainable agrosystem.

Committed to the preservation of cultural and agricultural traditions, they cultivate a 100% natural and ecological product.

They rescue traditional crafts using production methods that do not harm our environment or human health.

The use of exclusive woods in the drying process enhances the characteristics of this exquisite spice.

With the hiring of labor, especially for the tasks of harvesting and debrisning, as well as with the distribution of their product, ecological and traditional in the country, they want to contribute to the strengthening of the economic and agricultural sector in the area.

Azarfran from Safrà del Montsec is certified as an organic food by the EU, Agriculture Biologique in France and NOP USDA in the United States and Canada.

The quality of Safrà del Montsec saffron is also certified as category 1 according to the ISO 3632-2 Standard.
