A limited edition sparkling wine made in Can Marti, a 135-hectare farm owned by the family torello since 1395 in Gelida, municipality of the region of l'Alt Penedès. 

It is made with Maccabeus, Xarel lo and Parellada. It is a sparkling wine with a minimum aging of 40 months.

Complex sparkling wine with many nuances, a very pleasant bubble sensation on the palate. Balanced complexity between aging and freshness that make it long and light. Notes of fine briochería, subtle toasts and fruit.

Preparation: All Corpinnat de Torelló wines and sparkling wines originate from the 135-hectare Can Martí vineyards, a Torelló family estate since 1395. Located in Gelida, in the Alt Penedès

Each variety of grape, harvested 100% by hand and at its optimum point of maturation, is quickly transported to the presses to avoid oxidation, the bunches arriving whole and in perfect condition, transported quickly, in boxes of 25 kg or small trailers , to the presses, arriving the whole bunches and in perfect condition. Each variety is pressed separately, gently, taking advantage of only the first pressing (the "flower must"), with careful vinification and fermentation, with its own wild yeasts.

After the first fermentation, the base wine for Corpinnat goes through 225-liter French Allier oak barrels (hence its name), for approximately a month. Second fermentation in the bottle.

Aged for: Minimum 40 months of aging in bottle. Every year the poignette (shaking the bottle), which causes the yeasts to re-mix with the wine. In this way the sparkling wine is enriched in aromas and flavors. Disgorgement without the addition of sugars.

Information about Torelló

Torelló wines and sparkling wines are made with one main objective: caring for their vines with rigor and passion, a guarantee of future quality. For it:
Vineyard production is limited by winter pruning and summer green harvesting. In spring, green pruning is carried out, managing to concentrate the properties of the grape, its better aeration and insolation, as well as the regulation of its growth.

The Can Martí estate has belonged to the Torelló family since 1395 and occupies 135 hectares in the fertile region of Penedès. We grow the white grape varieties Macabeo, Xarel.lo, Parellada, Chardonnay and Subirat Parent and the red ones, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir and Syrah.

The oldest document that we have on the history of the family is dated June 17, 1395 and refers that the Lord of Gelida established an emphytheusis, (census), on the Mas de la Torrevella, (current location of the Can Martí farm and its farmhouses, Can Martí de Baix and Can Martí de Dalt), in favor of my direct ancestor Jaume Miquel, with "all his houses, buildings, fields, vineyards, lands, forests, orchards, honors and other possessions, waters, aqueducts, entrances and exits and all their rights and belongings that belong to the Mas or will belong to them in the future, whatever they may be ".

Throughout the centuries the family name was changing as a result of successive marriages, until the current one, Torelló, which corresponds to the 22nd generation, which retains the property, honoring the mandate of its ancestor, which required that "you and your successors may be your own and lonely men, natural, mine and mine, and that you make the Mas your home, stay and residence ".

The most recent story links with his great-grandfather, Marc Mir, who in 2004 has marked the centenary of his death, whose generosity allowed the replanting of vineyards in the Penedès after the phylloxera plague that ruined the region at the end of the XNUMXth century. , and for which reason he saw his merits recognized in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia with a monument in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento and a street that perpetuates his memory.

As of 1951, his father, Francisco Torelló, anticipating the economic change in the country, oriented the family's traditional agrarian trajectory towards wine-growing industrialization, initiating the production of sparkling wine and bottled wine, with grapes from the Can Martí estate vineyards.

Since 2014 everything has been grown organically. This is where the long-aging sparkling wines come from, made with the three classic varieties of the area (xarel.lo, macabeo and parellada).

At the beginning of 2019, the firm abandoned the DO Cava along with the rest of the producers that make up Corpinnat, an association created in April 2018 under the formula of a collective brand that claims the terroir and qualitative requirements superior to those of the DO.

The current production facilities have taken advantage of the two existing medieval farmhouses on the estate: Can Martí de Dalt and Can Martí de Baix. The latter, articulated around an exterior patio, is considered a classic “vineyard farmhouse” with the ground floor used for cattle and a cellar, the first for housing and the second for attic and food storage.
