Description

Ingredients: 100% cornmeal

It contains gluten. May contain and traces of legumes, soy, sesame and nuts.

It is a medium source of protein, containing 8,29g per 100g of product. The aforementioned nutritional contribution, together with calcium (18mg), iodine (80mg) and potassium (120mg) and magnesium (47mg), make cornmeal or polenta a nutritious and healthy food.

To make this flour, a high-quality grain from certified organic farming is selected, which gives the flour a beautiful color and a lot of flavour.

They grind it in a 100% artisanal-traditional way in a water mill at low revolutions and with stones called country stones with a special grinding that are specific for corn, resulting in an exceptional flour that respects all the properties of corn, after grinding. They sieve it in a traditional sieve with a fine mesh so that the finest possible flour comes out so that it can be used in countless preparations from breads, donuts, biscuits, pastries in general.

The company created by David Menénedez is unique in Spain and can only be assimilated to others from outside the country, which in Retuerta Mills there are hydraulic mills that grind slowly and with such delicacy and care, this prevents, among other positive factors, the overheating of the raw material, consequently it protects in a special way all the qualities of the product during grinding, of course this delicate This process is detrimental to the benefit of greater production and disadvantages the margin price for the company, hence its fine and refined texture, so different, in addition to its natural smell, reminiscent of a surprising product of yesteryear, all this logically with the addition of Totally ecological milling.

On January 23, 2019, a catastrophe occurred in Agones, Pravia. After his son was born, he lost his job. A flood completely destroyed the sports facilities where he worked at Agones. With great strength he decided to invest his efforts in the project of his life, dedicating himself body and soul to giving a new life to the Retuerta mill. It was just at that moment when I had enough time and motivation to start the project, since it was my family's dream. The mill is over 300 years old and has a glorious past.

Since he was a child he dreamed of the opportunity to work for himself, being a miller. He restored it and took on the challenge of being a miller 2.0. Dream fulfilled!!
